March 22, 2010 – New Health Care Bill Summary: Health Care Reform Passed – Healthcare Bill 2010
President Obama finally achieved a monumental victory of his on Sunday night, by passing the universal healthcare reform bill. This was his prime objective of his presidential reign, and ends a year-long battle to make it happen. “This legislation will not fix everything that ails our health-care system, but it moves us decisively in the right direction,” Obama was quoted on Sunday evening, after the historic vote.
The health care reform passed without one single Republican vote. Many protesters were outside the lawn on Capitol Hill, chanting “Kill the billâ€, desperately pleading their case. Despite their efforts, the ball is now rolling in full swing. What can American’s expect? Not a lot of change at first, other than minor adjustments. One big win at this time, is children with pre-existing conditions will no longer be denied. In a few years, around 2014, we can expect for the entire process to be overhauled.
Before the healthcare bill becomes law, expect Republicans to put up a fight, and go for an appeal this fall at midterm elections. For more information on what went down yesterday, along with the new health care bill summary, visit New Health Care Bill Summary.
