Dallas Maverick’s owner Mark Cuban has confirmed that he has plans for a project with Charlie Sheen for HDNet.

Recent speculation has suggested that Cuban and Sheen are set to join forces and capitalize on the recent wave of interest in the “Two and a Half Men” star, and the entrepreneur has confirmed that talks are set to go ahead.

The 52-year-old Cuban, who also owns Landmark Theatres, said, “We’ll do something together, but it’s not certain it will be a show. It’ll come down to what he wants do and what his situation is. We’ll just figure it out from there, but it’s a unique opportunity, I’ll say that”.

Pretty interesting. In the Charlie Sheen interview with Alex Jones that started all of the recent speculation about his sanity, sobriety, and a host of other jive, Sheen at least came off as high-strung but, in context (not just from soundbytes), is probably not crazy.

Mark Cuban is not crazy. He is a bit of an actual maverick, but you can’t argue with his success or acumen. Cuban has a history of being able to deal with eccentrics (Dennis Rodman). It seems that if Mark Cuban is willing to hitch his wagon to Charlie Sheen, it’s a good sign.

Interesting, too, is the fact that Cuban, Sheen, and Alex Jones were all set to work on the 911 documentary “Loose Change,” when the project was shelved amid controversy. Was all of the publicity staged? Tough to say, but these guys are all tight and know how to capitalize.
