Martha Stewart’s blog today carries an announcement about the new kitchen line she is launching with the Home Depot. This news was preceded by a Twitter announcement to her followers this past Thursday that she was about to introduce the cabinets, countertops and unique hardware with eleven door styles, five painted finishes and assorted woods to the press, chefs and “other people.”

Stewart, who herself reportedly owns 21 kitchens, already offers a variety of home decor, flooring and furniture items for indoors and out as well as paint and storage solutions through Home Depot. The ‘Design Made Easy’ feature on the retailer’s web site allows consumers looking to remodel to virtually match various items in the appropriate color palette online through a series of product symbols in order to achieve the ideal look for their home makeover.

After the announcement CBS news quoted Stewart as saying her company “finally has a partner who is able to do it in a large way… (with) details you don’t get at the mass market level. “ With the new kitchen collection Stewart and the Home Depot are obviously hoping the recent recession-driven drop in home remodeling will take a turn for the better.
