Mask of Clay….by Richard Lynn Livesay 2009

Again into this mask of clay

My world is seen another way…

A journey thru my time and space

Experiencing life at my own pace.

Within, I see a different view

As you see me and I see you…

Things may seem that they’re ok

But behind the mask, I feel betray.

Running around in flocks and groups

We try to blend like veggie soups

Laughing and crying, believing lies

What are we covering when truth denies?

We fill our time with this and that

Climbing ladders; in a worldly vat.

Complaining of stress and poverty

Believing that this is reality.

Wondering what is really true

Yet never seeing the one in you.

You don’t need an interpreter

Ask, listen and accept the wonder .

Behind our mask of clay we say

That we will change maybe some day

But then our busy lives and  thought

Take over, consume;Look what I bought.

Like fish in the ocean we swim through life

Controled by the currents, experiencing strife.

One day we may see in this beautiful world

We don’t need a mask when our truth is unfurled.
