For those of us who are true Conan O’Brien fans, it seems a bit of sad news that the two have agreed to go their separate ways. Max Weinberg will not be joining Conan O’Brien on his new show on TBS . The two entertainers have worked together since “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” first aired in 1993. Sources close to the two are not disclosing, or just are not aware of, what brought about the decision to split.

According to CNN.com, Weinberg will be replaced by guitarist Jimmy Vivino. Vivino was often the stand-in whenever Max would take a break from the show to tour with Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. Reports indicate it was Vivino himself who broke the news to the media.

Conan O’Brien is a legend in comedy circles. His claim to fame is a zany sense of humor, mixed with plenty of shock value, and big hair. Mr Weinberg had a style of his own, and even Conan owns up to his former house band-leader being the factor which kept the show on air during their first two years. The show itself is known for its polarizing effect. Either you love him or you hate him. Very few are in-between.

But business goes on as usual in the entertainment industry. While the show may not be quite the same without Max Weinberg, the oldest of truisms will always remain: The show must go on.
