McCain’s "Celebrity" Attacks Against Obama-A Reminder About Glass Houses

So McCain's latest ads are asking the question "Who do we want as president, a celebrity or an American Hero?"  Seems McCain puts Obama in the same category as Brittney Spears and Paris Hilton.  Funny, I don't recall any photos of Obama not wearing underwear in public or being involved in alcohol-induced car wrecks, but I digress…

McCain's good friend Arnold Schwarzenegger was a celebrity long before becoming a politician.  His first (and only) official "political" position was as chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports from 1990-1993.    Yet he was elected governor of California in 2003.

I wonder how Arnold feels about McCain so backhandedly dismissing a "celebrity" as a presidential candidate?  Particularly since McCain and Schwarzenegger ARE suppose to be friends.  Obama has a lot more political experience that Arnold, that is for sure.  Moreover, while there is no question as to Obama's celebrity, his celebrity came as a result of his political career.  Whereas Arnold's political career came as a result of his celebrity.

I guess it's OK to be a celebrity—so long as you are a Republican celebrity…
