Are you a little short on holiday cash? Match all six Mega Millions winning numbers tonight, and as the December 20th lottery winner, you’ll have more than enough to buy everything on Santa’s wish list. You could even buy a red suit and play Santa Claus this year because Tuesday’s estimated Mega Millions jackpot is up to $152,000,000 annuity, or a one-time whopping lump-sum of $113,600,000 in cash!
Keep in mind, those amounts are before taxes. Unless Santa is tax exempt, he can expect to dish out the same amount everyone else has to pay on lottery winnings—25 percent in federal taxes, and whatever the state imposes upon you—even if you are the big jolly man wearing the red suit this year!
New York Mega Millions Winner
Matthew Albrecht of Rhinebeck, New York, will have a very happy holiday this season. The Kingston resident matched five out of six Mega Millions winning numbers (2, 4, 26, 36, 39), but not the Mega Ball number (27), for the Friday, December 16th drawing.
Albrecht’s $250,000 Mega Millions winning ticket was purchased at the Hess Mart on Ulster Avenue in Kingston, NY. As happy as he is with his new-found fortune, if Albrecht spent an extra dollar on a Megaplier ticket for the second-tier lottery prize, he would have been an even happier millionaire!
