Actor Michael C. Hall was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier this year. The actor is speaking about the disease, his life over the past year, and his father, who died from cancer when Hall was just a boy.
In a new interview with The New York Times, Hall says, “I think I’ve been preoccupied since I was 11, and my father died, with the idea of the age 39: Would I live that long? What would that be like? To discover that I had the Hodgkin’s was alarming, but at the same time I felt kind of bemused, like: Wow. Huh. How interesting.”
That cancer that tried to consume Hall’s life wasn’t able to because Hall remained strong and positive through his treatment. He filmed episodes of Dexter and even a movie in the time he was diagnosed until his cancer went in to remission. Hall underwent chemotherapy and said that after his treatments he had “more energy,” allowing him to continue working through his ailments.
Hall’s cancer journey is inspirational, as he worked through what most could only imagine. His story is a positive one, and he overcame what was thrown his way.
