Paris and Prince Michael Jackson paid tribute to their late father on the 52nd Grammy Awards as they accepted the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award onÂ Michael Jackson‘s behalf. Prince Michael said this:
“We are proud to be here to accept this award on behalf of our father, Michael Jackson.”
Paris said this before they left the stage:
“Daddy was supposed to be here. Daddy was going to perform this year, but he couldn’t perform last year. Thank you. We love you, Daddy.”
Earlier in the eveningÂ Celine Dion,Â Carrie Underwood,Â Jennifer Hudson,Â Usher andSmokey Robinson (Jackson’s godfather) performed a 3-D musical tribute to Michael Jackson, who passed away last June at the age of 50 of acute propofol intoxication.
