Don’t call Mila Kunis a thespian. The actress loves her day job, but she does not think that what she does is art. Mila, whose rise in fame from ‘That 70’s Show’ to staring in an upcoming new Wizard of Oz prequel is well documented, clearly does not take herself too seriously.
For the proof that Mila Kunis does not her acting career too seriously, one only has to listen to a recent interview:
I love what I do, but my theory is that it’s people who doubt what they do and want to prove it to you, they’re like, ‘It’s art. I create art. It’s art, art, art.’ I’m like, ‘Holy s**t, are you f**king kidding me?’
Mila admits to watching guilty pleasure, MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ after having long, 12-hour days of “pretending to I’m someone else.” Can anyone blame her? She records ‘Family Guy’ and then goes home to watch reality TV stars who really are full of themselves (read Snooki and The Situation).
Mila Kunis seems to enjoy what she does, but clearly understands that many of the movies and shows that she is a part of are hardly Shakespeare plays. No, she does not make art, though that does not mean she fails to entertain while being paid for it. Thank goodness for a Mila’s humility; there are plenty of others actors who believe that their garbage acting is somehow ‘high art.’
