Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth just got engaged, so now the big question is this: when’s the wedding?
It might seem like a good idea for the couple to have a long engagement since they’re both so young (Miley is 19 and Liam is 22). Some couples will stay engaged for a few years before they walk down the aisle, so Miley’s ring didn’t necessarily mean that she’ll become a wife anytime soon.
However, now Hollywood Life has reported that she and Liam are planning a summer wedding. Luckily they won’t be rushing down the aisle this summer—a source says that the ceremony will likely take place next year and that Miley is considering doing something on the water. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth tying the knot on a boat would be a great way to avoid the paparazzi, but they better hope that Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber don’t decide to shoot off fireworks (Punk’d joke).
Liam and Miley’s first step in planning their big day will reportedly be deciding on their wedding colors, but surely Miley and Liam are also already thinking of ways to incorporate their beloved pet dogs in their wedding. Thinking of details like this might be fun now, but they’re probably going to be incredibly stressed while planning their big day—Miley is busy working on a new album (perhaps she’ll record a special wedding love song for it) while Liam will be filming Catching Fire and a few other movies. So it wouldn’t be surprising if their wedding date keeps getting pushed back. Luckily for Miley, her parents are thrilled that she’s engaged to Liam, and her mom Tish is looking forward to helping the couple with the wedding planning process.
So what do you think of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth getting married next year? There have been a lot of celebrities that got married in their late teens and early twenties who ended up getting divorced later on, so Hollywood history makes their future look rather bleak. However, there are lots of young couples away from Hollywood who manage to stay together forever, so perhaps Miley and Liam are normal enough that they’ll be able to buck the trend.
