Miley Cyrus Jealous of Selena Gomez? Not Because of Justin Bieber

Miley Cyrus may have a similar background to fellow former Disney starlets the likes of Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Demi Lovato, but apparently she feels as if she’s currently on the shorter end of the fame stick from these other PYTs. So while she’s not envying Gomez’s hot guy Justin Bieber (Cyrus has her own hunky boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, after all!) or Hudgens’ curves (she has been hitting Pilates and toning up on her own) or really the talent of any of this trio (she’s a triple threat, too), she might just be feeling a bit green at the sight of their fame and fan clubs.

“Miley doesn’t like seeing her peers, like Vanessa Hudgens, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez getting roles and opportunities that she believes she should be getting,” said a source close to Miley Cyrus, as Hollywood Life reveals. “Miley is more frustrated with the lack of offers for films like Journey 2 and Spring Breakers.”

Ouch… sounds like this could be a case of a sore loser. Hollywood Life thinks her recent exhibitionist tendencies with skin-baring style statements, not to mention her questionable Twitter posts, might just be fueled by a certain sort of jealousy. It’s an interesting theory… the flaunt-what-you’ve-got behavior certainly seems to be a mentality that is pining for attention.

It’s an interesting point. The insider doesn’t mention it, but Miley Cyrus’ boyfriend Liam Hemsworth might also be adding insult to injury in a way. He’s currently starring in the The Hunger Games, which has been a huge blockbuster. That said, Cyrus is still quite young and has really played her own fame game with a leap into the provocative, all-grown-up world, obviously anxious to leave her Hannah Montana days behind. Hopefully, she’ll end up happy with the trajectory.
