Miley Cyrus: ‘Leap’ in Video “Who Owns My Heart” a Rite of Passage or Raunchy?

Miley Cyrus has made a leap into adulthood with her new video, “Who Owns My Heart”.  But the decisions she and father, Billy Ray Cyrus,  have made could derail her leap and rite of passage, as many are fed up with the raunchy tactics.

The 17-year-old Miley Cyrus is best known for her role as “Hannah Montana” and her pop-chart hits, especially among the pre-teen group.  Having gone into the stratosphere with her brand image, many believe she has crossed an imaginary line of sexual suggestiveness with her on and off stage behavior, according to the LA Times. Recall, months ago, Miley Cyrus was made infamous for her “crotch shot”, reported by gossip blogger, Perez Hilton.

Miley Cyrus made a leap into dramatic acting in “The Last Song” an on-screen adaptation of author, Nicholas Sparks’ novel of the same title.  It went on to perform less than expected, as the public was not prepared for her transition to serious acting.

So, what does the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus do?  She returns back to a “racy” and “raunchy” video, based on the opinion from some mothers concerned about the message to children.

Miley Cyrus, in “Who Owns My Heart”, is seen writhing on a bed in undies singing into the camera before she heads on a stage surrounded by other gyrating dancers.  It is reminiscent of a Britney Spears video when she carried around a large python in her video early on in her career.

The Miley Cyrus video borders on the racy, sexual innuendos that one expects to read in tabloids, that mine the entertainment world of any suggestions to bumping and grinding of rogue A-Listers.

The irony of her new video is that the still minor, Miley Cyrus, managed by Billy Ray Cyrus is pushing the needle a bit far with her ubiquitous headlines of sex and expressive behavior.  This behavior is a far cry from what a parent who sits on the Television Advisory Council is expected to allow in their child who is modeled by kids her junior.

Is Miley Cyrus hoping her leap in adulthood is an act her legion of fans will tolerate as she matures and transitions into dramatic acting roles?  She is expected to slowly break the umbilical cord from Disney as she approaches 18.

What does the Miley Cyrus leap mean for her?  Will she crash and burn like Spears and Aguilera who both treaded on the border of sexual bad behavior?
