Modern Family Premieres on ABC Tonight at 9/8 CST: Will Season Two Deliver?

There’s no question that ‘Modern Family’ debuted strong last year, and remained solid through to the season finale.  Even if there were any doubt about the hit ABC comedy stealing the hearts (and laughs) of viewers, the show swept this year’s Emmy Awards, taking home the awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (for Eric Stonestreet’s portrayal of Cameron Tucker), Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series (for the pilot episode), and the bigtime award for their category, Outstanding Comedy Series.

With all the hype surrounding the first season, though, will the show be able to keep it up?  Or will they fall prey to a sort of “sophomore slump”, having already used their best material?

If you’re the type to bet, the smart money would be on ‘Modern Family’ having continued success.  With the outstanding cast (Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ty Burrell were also nominated for the Best Supporting Actor award), amazing and fresh team of writers who now possess an Emmy to back them up, and smart, witty storylines that everyone can relate to, it’s no surprise that ‘Modern Family’ is set to reemerge as the number one comedy on TV this fall.

‘Modern Family’ returns Wednesday, September 22 on ABC at 9/8 CST.

Will you be watching?  Who are you most excited to see return?
