If you were nominated for an Emmy this year in the comedy category and were not a Modern Family cast member, you’re probably owed an apology.  After all, the new hit Wednesday night comedy more or less swept the category, and in popular opinion, deserved each and every one.

Eric Stonestreet, who stars as Cameron Tucker in the ABC Comedy, was the first to hear his name called when he won Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy.  Stonestreet accepted his first Emmy award looking humbled and shocked, having beat the likes of Jon Cryer, Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Colfer, and his two fellow Modern Family cast members, Ty Burrell and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.  Congrats, Stonestreet.  Or should we say Flyza Minelli?

The show also took a huge award, garnering the Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series for the Pilot episode.

The biggest award of the night for the newcomer, though, was Outstanding Comedy Series, beating out fellow sensation Glee, seasoned veterans The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, 30 Rock, and Nurse Jackie.  They couldn’t have deserved it more!

What do you think about their wins?  Do you feel that Glee was snubbed?  Or did Modern Family more than deserve their wins?
