My Love

~a sonnet~

O, loveliness, bless unbelieving eyes

my soul’s spurred on by soft alluring gaze

as you draw near I realize

you’re poetry with such delicious phrase

rich fabric drapes but cannot hide your frame

your bounty seen – so often have I known

with glistening glide, sweet Love I speak thy name

I sow thy fertile field with swain’s soft moan

bejeweled with precious gifts, thy soul I see

thy goodness is my ensign proudly borne

my mantle – you, softly draping me

my troth to you each minute sweetly sworn

our passion red – elixir claret wine

Eternal is my Love and she is mine

Happy Valentines Day
