NBA Free Agent Rumors – Kenyon Martin to Golden State Warriors?

Kenyon Martin is another NBA veteran that is looking to find a home this summer as the forward looks to continue his professional career.

Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers has told reporters he is looking to add some toughness and experience to the team’s front-court, and the latest rumor from Matt Steinmetz of CSN Bay Area has the team looking at Martin to fill their need for depth on the bench and a player with plenty of playoff experience, both of which the Warriors need if they want to become contenders in the Western Conference.

Martin was the top overall pick by New Jersey back in 2000 and has had a good career, but he still hasn’t won a title, and a move to Golden State would have him playing for one of the best up-and-coming teams in the league.

Martin averaged 5 points and four rebounds last year for the LA Clippers, but his career numbers of 13 points and seven rebounds show the type of player he is. Martin plays a very physical brand of basketball and was known for his toughness when he played in Denver.

Golden State has made several moves over the last year and the most recent was moving the franchise to San Francisco. This team is looking to win, and adding a leader like Martin could only help as this team prepares for the upcoming NBA season.
