NBA Rumors: Andrei Kirilenko to the Brooklyn Nets?

Andrei Kirilenko could make a return to the NBA.

Kirilenko played all of last season in Russia with the CKSA Moscow and is reportedly open to returning to the states. Several teams have been in contact with the free-agent small forward, but he’s reportedly only interested in a couple of teams.

According to RealGM, the Brooklyn Nets are one of the frontrunners for Kirilenko’s services. They have confirmed that they have been in talks with the multi-year NBA veteran. In a recent interview with a radio station, Nets GM Billy King had this to say about Kirilenko: “He still can play, he would be a great piece to add to us, and give us more depth at the forward spot.”

The Nets however can only offer Kirilenko the veteran’s minimum, which is severely lower than the $4 million that he’s earning per season in Russia. However, if signed, Kirilenko would most likely backup Gerald Wallace at the small forward spot and give the Nets some much needed depth.
