NBA Rumors – Boris Diaw to Boston Celtics

Boston never made any moves at the NBA trade deadline and the aging group of veterans have had a rough time this year, but their recent play suggests this group is not quite done and some help could be on the way.

Charlotte released forward Boris Diaw today in a move that surprised nobody as the nine-year veteran has seen his playing time and numbers decrease all season, but the 30-year-old still could help a team down the stretch and ESPN Boston has reported that Diaw could land with the Celtics.

Boston has little depth in their front-court and it looks like center Jermaine O’Neil will miss the rest of the season and adding some depth this late is tough, but Diaw could give the team some solid minutes.

The biggest problem for the veteran this season is his conditioning as reports have made out that the forward has gained too much weight, but a big body is needed by the Celtics and the risk versus reward is too high for the front office to pass on.

This is possibly the last hurrah for many on this NBA team and the front office needs to do all it can to make this a successful season, so look for the Celtics to add another big man and Diaw while not the best option, he is a good fit on a veteran team.
