NBA Trade Rumors – Boston Celtics Looking to Add Size?

Boston has played some good basketball over the last two weeks, winning seven of their last 10 games; but the Celtics have played twice as many games at home than on the road and that could spell disaster in the team’s chances of making the NBA playoffs.

If this team is going to keep its aging veterans, then a move needs to be made to bring in some depth, and the latest trade rumors from Bleacher Report has the team looking at several big men to help the team in the second half of the season.

Ben Wallace from Detroit is a veteran center with plenty of playoff experience and is the type of player that could help Boston as a short-term solution for the rest of the year. The 37-year-old is playing just 14 minutes per game this season, but he still averages nearly four rebounds in that time and could give the Celtics some much-needed depth at power forward and center.

One intriguing option for the team is Anthony Randolph of Minnesota as he is just 22 years of age, but has the skills to play any position in the front-court. The youngster averaged over 11 points and five boards last season, but a drop in playing time has seen those numbers cut in half this year and a move could benefit both teams.

The NBA trade deadline is still a few weeks away, but some teams need to consider making a move quickly or risk falling to far back in the race for the playoffs.
