New Directions Choir stuns on America’s Got Talent – group comprised of formerly homeless veterans [VIDEO]

New Directions Choir was a group on America’s Got Talent tonight. Seriously, it was one of the most inspiring and powerful performances I have ever seen anywhere ever. The New Directions Choir is an a cappella group that sings both popular songs as well as traditional gospel songs.

The group, New Directions Choir, is comprised of formerly homeless veterans. The featured singer had been homeless for 25 years. Another singer had been homeless for 10 years. It is simply amazing that they were able to get to New Directions and turn their lives around.

Of course they got through to the next round of America’s Got Talent tonight. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they won the entire thing. It was seriously amazing and beyond inspiring.

There are an estimated 20,000 homeless veterans living on the streets of Los Angeles. That number is 11% of the total veteran homeless population nationwide. New Directions provides both outpatient and inpatient resources for veterans. They serve more than 1,000 veterans.

What did you think about the choir tonight on America’s Got Talent? I have included a video of the group below from earlier this year.
