LA Times reported that the couple was possibly abducted for money. They were being held for ransom in a van as they were beaten by the perpetrators. The male had his penis partially cut off by the suspects.

When the victims were found, the woman, who was spotted by a Kern County Deputy, was walking along Highway 14 with hands bounded with zip ties and appeared to have been beaten badly. The deputy, later, found the man bounded and bleeding from his genitals.

Kyle Shirakawa Handley, 33, of Fountain Valley was arrested by Newport Beach in connection to the abductions. Two other suspects are still at large. Handley has pleaded not guilty to the charges of kidnapping for ransom, torture, aggravated mayhem and burglary.

In many third-world countries, to kidnap for ransom is very popular. The reason it happens is because the poor attacks the rich in a very heinous fashion for money. Of course, it is the poor with no class that commit this kind of horrifying crime.

Here in the U.S., it is not a known crime trend to kidnap for ransom. In hopes that the economy picks up, the poor in this country could possibly take that road to get money. Again, this would be the poor that has a criminal mind, and the U.S. knows very well that it has plenty of criminals that are very poor.

In the end, the culprits of this crime and future similar crimes should be caught like dogs and have justice served quickly on a silver platter.
