Nexslim Formally Known as Medislim: Physician Assisted Diet Plan Overview

MediSlim has changed its name to Nexslim. This is a calorie based program which means it goes by the number of calories consumed per day. This diet does not include required meal replacements. Because of the strict decrease in calories this diet needs to be supervised by doctors, nurse practitioners and/or registered dietitian. Often it is a combination of all three in an office setting.

Some insurance policies may cover this diet plan but it is not a guarantee. The costs vary from approximately $275 for the new patient visit and covers the first four weeks of the program. This first stage includes lab work, B12 shots weekly, initial visit and two week follow up visit, EKG which is only done if requested by provider.

The acute phase is next which costs approximately $175 every four weeks. This includes weekly B12 shots, follow up visits every other week and possibly at additional costs medications and refills.

The transition phase is next with the cost of $150 approximately every four weeks. This includes the B12 shots weekly and a monthly follow up visit.

The maintenance phase costs about $100 and is a long term wellness follow up phase. There is one B12 shot and a follow up visit based on what the provider deems is necessary.

Again, this is a restrictive calorie diet and must be done with physician supervision.
