The NFL Scouting Combine is over and now teams can work on bringing in veteran free agents for a look as signing day is just a few days off. Seattle is one team that has several holes to fill on their roster and adding a tight end is one of their priorities.

The latest signing rumor has the Seahawks making a move for Fred Davis of the Washington Redskins and it is one that makes perfect sense. The team needs more weapons for whoever plays quarterback in the upcoming season, and the former second round draft choice is among the top players available this off-season.

Davis has made 128 receptions for over 1,600 yards and 12 touchdowns in the last three years and that is with the 26-year-old splitting most of the starting duties during his career with the Redskins.

Seattle got very little production from the tight end position last year and adding that can make tough catches, and giving the team other options in the red zone is a must if Seattle wants to compete for the NFC West title next season.

NFL free agency has several quality players available this year and combined with the upcoming draft, teams can make some major improvements in a short period, making the 2012-13 season very exciting for football fans.
