NFL Trade Rumors – Tim Tebow to Seattle Seahawks?

Things are changing quickly in the NFL as trades and free agent signings have altered the landscape of football. Seattle is one team that now must add some depth at quarterback after trading Matt Flynn and failing to land Colt McCoy this week, but recent rumors could have the Seahawks landing a former Heisman Trophy winner.

Vincent Frank of Bleacher Report has suggested that the NY Jets deal backup quarterback Tim Tebow to Seattle and the deal makes sense. Tebow is no longer in the future plans of New York and Seattle needs a backup with some experience.

The 25-year-old signal caller is the type of player Seattle can use on offense and a good insurance policy if Russell Wilson is injured. With the mobility of Wilson, adding a player like Tebow fits well with the offensive system in place and it would give the former first round draft pick another shot at an NFL career, even if it’s as a backup and helping the Seahawks defense prepare for spread offenses like that of San Francisco.

Another option in Seattle is using the upcoming draft, but the team needs some experience at quarterback and dealing for a player like Tebow makes a bit more sense, especially with the playoff’s aspiration of this team.
