Nicki Minaj Goes ‘Smurf’ for “Vogue’ Shoot

Does anyone know what Nicki Minaj really looks like? It seems every time she appears in print or on TV she sports a different look, which can include (but isn’t limited to) pink hair, neon lips and now–blue skin. Nicki channeled her inner ‘Smurf’ for a recent Vogue photo shoot. But why?

According to a report from Hollywood Life, Nicki donned a simple but elegant red gown for the Vogue photo shoot that showed off her gorgeous and perfectly proportioned shape. But would she have looked better–or at least more human–if she let her own skin tone show through?

Nicki MinajAnd what is that skin tone? Without looking up a recent photo–off the top of your head, can you state what Nicki’s skin tone is? Is she black, white, brown? At the moment, she’s blue. You can check that peculiar look out by clicking here.

Obviously the bizarre statements–pink hair, green lips and blue skin–are part of Nicki’s signature look, but wouldn’t it be nice to see what this young lady actually looks like? It’s quite clear from the shots fans are allowed to see that she is pretty. She is taut and toned and very shapely. And she likely has some kind of hair underneath those multi-colored wigs–wouldn’t you assume?

The Stupid Hoe singer has pulled off some of the most unusual looks around. In fact, since the 2012 Grammy Awards, some feels she’s even outdone Lady Gaga in the bizarre costume/appearance category. When she showed up wearing a red gown with hood and accompanied by a faux pope as her date, lips started flapping. And while that was no doubt the reason for the strange appearance, maybe it’s time to see the real Nicki.

What do you think? Would you like to see Nicki Minaj as Nicki Minaj? It would certainly be a novel idea.

Now just one more question requires asking. What’s with Vogue putting a ‘Smurf’ within its high couture pages?
