Have Janet Jackson and brothers Jermaine and Randy have finally gone too far? After following a vehicle carrying the late Michael Jackson’s three minor children into their gated driveway, the older Jackson attacked the children, screaming at them and trying to snatch their cellphones out of their hands! Is this a $500 million money-grab or adult children tired of seeing their mother manipulated by her grandchildren and attorneys? It may be a little bit of both.
The battle seems to stem from The King of Pop’s 2002 will. When he died in 2009, he left his mom, Katherine, now 82, guardianship over his three children, Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket, and John Branca and John McClain taking care of the money left to care for his mom and kids. Nothing was left to his siblings or his father. For the past three years, Michael’s siblings have complained about the will; claiming it isn’t valid, that Jackson wasn’t in town when it was signed and many other objections.
Ten days ago, Katherine Jackson vanished from the family home in Calabasas, California. On Monday, family member Trent Jackson reported Katherine missing. In addition, 14-year-old Paris wrote several scary tweets, one claiming she hadn’t even heard from her grandmother in nine days! The fear she felt is clear in one particular tweet:
“@ParisJackson 8 days and counting . something is really off , this isn’t like her at all .. i wanna talk directly to my grandmother!!<|3″
At another point, the girl got so worked up she said that whoever was responsible for her grandmother’s disappearance would ‘pay for it’! Eventually, police located Mrs. Jackson at her daughter Rebbie’s Arizona home. She was deemed ‘happy, safe and healthy’. So, is this just about the money like most of the media is saying? Rebbie is one of her children that signed a letter, along with Janet, Jermaine, Randy and Tito Jackson, demanding that John Branca and John McClain step down from handling the money and accusing them of manipulating Mrs. Jackson. Tito has since removed himself from the request.
If Rebbie is trying to take her money or the grandkids from her, why would she be at her home for so many days and seemingly happy at that? Could it be that Mrs. Jackson is just at her wit’s end with the children, grandchildren and all the legal goings on? Other than Michael’s kids, Mrs. Jackson cares for other grandchildren that live in the home. A few years ago, police were called in when it was discovered one of the children had bought a taser online. Former employees have expressed concern for her well-being because of the chaos in the home. Even though she’s 82 years old, she has been found healthy and of sound mind to care for the kids, but everyone has their limits!
It appears that Janet, Randy and Jermaine reached theirs yesterday! After entering the property and grabbing the children, Janet, caught on film, is seen calling Paris a ‘spoiled little b****’ and slapping her across the face! TMZ reports that strong-willed Paris countered with a slap of her own, right across her aunt’s face while yelling, ”This is our house. Not the Jackson family house. Get the f*** out!” The report claims the adults were trying to force the kids onto a plane to see their grandmother in Arizona. If that’s true, why would the kids resist after complaining of not seeing her for nine days?
At some point, police were called but before they got there, Randy and Jermaine and Janet Jackson barged into the home and went after Trent Jackson, Joe Jackson’s nephew. Trent supposedly punched Jermaine in the mouth and had Randy in a head-lock! One can only imagine the terror young Blanket must have felt seeing his family in a physical fight. With any luck, someone got him out of range of the fight. Police did not make any arrests, but they said there is an active battery investigation.
In the meantime, the lawyer for the children isn’t wasting anymore time in securing a safe environment for the kids. Margaret Lodise, who is court-appointed, has started the process to take over guardianship since Mrs. Jackson has been out-of-town for over a week. Executors John Branca and John McClain have posted this statement online:
“We are acutely concerned about the welfare of Mrs. Jackson, and most particularly with Michael’s minor children. We are concerned that we do what we can to protect them from undue influences, bullying, greed, and other unfortunate circumstances.”
Whatever the truth is, it is heartbreaking that these children, who have already lost their father while they were so young, have to endure the craziness of the adults around them. Now that its got to the point of physical violence, maybe the right people will step in. As for Katherine Jackson, hopefully those same people will make sure she is safe and not being manipulated by her children, her grandchildren or the lawyers.
