ObamaCare Will Add $6.2 Trillion to Deficit; Despite Obama’s “Not One Dime” Pledge (Video)

ObamaCare will add $6.2 trillion to the federal deficit, despite President Obama’s 2009 pledge, “I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits — either now or in the future,” according to the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office (GAO).

Andrew Stiles from the National Review describes the revelation made at a Senate Budget Committee hearing on Tuesday. Senator Jeff Sessions requested the report from the GAO which revealed the findings. Sessions noted that the findings confirm “everything critics and Republicans were saying about the faults of this bill,” but will the mainstream media report on the development?

President Obama and His Dimes

In 2009, while trying to sell the Affordable Care Act to the American people, President Obama remarked during a joint session of Congress:

“I will not sign it if it adds one dime to the deficit, now or in the future, period. And to prove that I’m serious, there will be a provision in this plan that requires us to come forward with more spending cuts if the savings we promised don’t materialize.”

That was then, this is now. ObamaCare is adding much more than a single dime to the federal deficit. In fact, Obama’s health care legislation is adding trillions of them.

Obama is big on dimes. Perhaps he speaks literally:

What is the saying…? “Fool me once….”?

Sessions continued to say that the GAO report “dramatically proves that the promises made assuring the nation that the largest new entitlement program in history would not add one dime to the deficit were false.” If recent history is any indication of what is reported in the mainstream media; most Americans probably will not find out about the GAO report.
