Old Navy Shooting Leaves Two Dead in Chicago

A shooting in an Old Navy store in Chicago has left two people dead. Police say that a man entered the store, shot his girlfriend, and then turned the gun on himself.

Chicago police officers who were on patrol, noticed people piling out of the Old Navy Store in down town Chicago around 11 am. The officers entered the Old Navy, finding two  bodies in the basement of the store.

The man and the woman are both said to be in their 20’s. Eugene Williams, the Chief of Patrol, said that he suspected that the two knew each other, but could not confirm the extent of their relationship.

The police have not officially said that the incident was a murder-suicide, but they do believe that at this time that “the male was the offender.”

Police closed down a section of State street. It was reopened shortly after noon.
