Olympic Medal Count for February 16, 2010

The United States is still leading the world in the Olympic medal count with 8 total medals.  The US has won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.

Trailing behind the United States is Germany with 5 medals.  Germany has won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.

Next is France with 4 total medals.  France has won 2 each of gold and bronze medals.

Host country Canada is up next with 4 medals also.  Canada has won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.

Switzerland has won 3 medals.  All 3 were gold medals.

The United States’ medalists are:

Gold medalists, Hannah Kearney in Freestyle Skiing, Women’s Moguls and Seth Wescott in Snowboarding, Men’s Snowboard Cross.

Silver medalists, Johnny Spillane in the Nordic Combined, Individual Normal Hill and Apolo Ohno in the Short Track, Men’s 1500m.

Bronze medalists are J.R. Celski in Short Track, Men’s 1500m, Bode Miller in Alpine Skiing, Men’s Downhill,  Bryon Wilson in Freestyle Skating, Men’s Moguls, and Shannon Bahrke in Freestyle Skiing, Women’s Moguls.
