‘Once Upon a Time’ Season 2 Spoilers: A Family Reunited, But There’s Still Drama

Once Upon a Time‘s first season ended with everyone remembering who they are and Snow White and Prince Charming finally reunited. That means they now know that Emma’s their daughter, and it’s not going to be an easy family reunion.

OUaT Season 2 Spoilers

According to TVLine, executive producer Eddy Kitsis has said, “Emma is a character who her entire life wanted to meet her parents—and now she’s met them. But this isn’t exactly how she pictured it, and that’s not an easy thing to deal with.” It’s not like it’s easy to accept the fact that your roommate is actually your mother, and because of what’s happened with time, your mother and father don’t look like they should be your parents. Emma is also going to have to deal with the fact that after the battle with Regina for Henry, now that Regina has been found out, she’s lost everything. That doesn’t mean Regina will just go away, so Emma has to be prepared for that as well, on top of dealing with getting to know her parents as her parents.

Once Upon a Time season 2 will also show that “there’s drama in every relationship,” according to executive producer Adam Horowitz, and that’s true for Mary and David even though they’re finally together. They will be moving forward, and Horowitz went on to add, “The drama that they experienced in Season 1 is not the same drama that we want to put them through in Season 2. We want to take that relationship in a new [direction].” After all, just because they’re back together doesn’t mean all the drama and problems they had in the past just disappear. They’re going to have to talk about that, as well as talk about Emma and their future as a family. This isn’t something they can deal with in one episode, and with everything else going on—such as magic coming to Storybrooke—it’s not something they may even have time to talk about right away.
