Once Upon a Time is going to be showing some very intriguing flashbacks in the 2013 episodes of season 2, based on the latest season 2 casting news that has been announced.

"Into the Deep" Photo: Jack Rowand/ABCAccording to Deadline, Rose McGowan is going to be playing a younger Cora in an origin episode flashback.” It was only a matter of time before this came about with Cora’s role growing significantly over recent episodes. The winter finale did end with Cora and Hook on their way to Storybrooke, and while Regina and Mr. Gold know what she’s capable of, the rest of the town may get to experience that for themselves. It is possible that the murder Regina’s accused of in the January return, “The Cricket Game,” is Cora’s work, after all.

But how did Cora become Cora? Given what has been shown about Regina’s mother so far (and Regina’s relationship with her), this is something to be excited about. Once Upon a Time has shown the origins of some of the other characters, and with what’s probably coming, this sounds like the perfect time to touch upon Cora’s past—and who better for the role than McGowan? She should fit right into the OUaT world.

What do you think of the latest Once Upon a Time season 2 spoilers and casting news?
