‘Once Upon a Time’ Season 2 Spoilers: What Magic Means for Storybrooke

Once Upon a Time season 1 ended with magic coming to Storybrooke, leaving everyone to watch as purple smoke took over the town. So what will this mean for everyone?

Lana Parrilla on Comic-ConLana Parrilla told TV Guide, “It’s hope. I don’t know how strong the magic’s going to be, but there’s going to be some powerful stuff going on.” That’s why Regina was smiling at the end of the episode. Now that everyone knows who they really are—and who she really is—she needs to hang on to all the hope she can get. Magic coming to Storybrooke is obviously a big deal for her and everyone in that town.

Meanwhile, Ginnifer Goodwin warns, “Magic is unpredictable in this world.” So what could that mean for everyone in Once Upon a Time season 2? This is obviously going to change things, but will it change it for the better? Will these characters get that happily-ever-after they were deprived of in fairytale land by Regina, or Regina find a way to once again take it all away? Since “magic is unpredictable” now, could Regina’s desire for it ultimately lead to her downfall?
