Open discussion: Men and work-life balance

Filed in Gather Family Essential by on April 1, 2009 0 Comments

Just noticed that Midmorning will host a show at 10:00 a.m. CT today, focusing on Men feel conflict in work-life balance:

A recent survey from the Families and Work Institute found that women in two-worker households are earning more money than their male partners, yet men are feeling more stress about the work-life balance.

I haven’t checked out the study (here’s a press release about the recent study on families and work) but I’m curious if this is your experience or what you think about it.

  • Don’t most people feel stress about their work-life balance? How is it different for men?
  • What do men face – socially speaking, here, folks – that others should understand?
  • Does the two-worker household still require navigation, or is society getting used to it?

This is an open discussion. You’re welcome to link to your related Gather articles or other online resources. Your comments may be quoted on the air or on http://minnesota.publicradio.org/your_voice/
