The Osama Bin Laden death anniversary is May 1st, and the FBI and Department of Homeland Security fear some terrorist groups might consider planning attacks for that day. They say such attacks would be considered symbolic victories among certain groups.

According to a report from the Huffington Post, even though there are no specific threats to the U.S.Osama Bin or their allies, the biggest concern seems to be ‘lone wolf’ terrorist attacks.

New York City Representative Peter King heads the House Homeland Security Committee. He said the following during an interview with CBS on Thursday.

“There is chatter or talk among various terrorists, various Al-Qaeda supporters, about avenging the death of bin Laden. Basically with the first anniversary coming up, this is a warning, advisory to all Americans for keeping their eyes and ears out and also I would say to anyone in airlines, rail, anyone at all, to be extra cautious, extra careful.”

Does this concern you as the one-year anniversary of Osama Bin Laden’s death draws near? Is it enough of a concern that you would alter your travel plans?

An increase in intelligence about the possibility of threats from a Yemen group called AQAP (al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula) is a very real concern. This is the same group that almost succeeded in crashing a plane over Detroit on Christmas Day in 2009.

Will you be extra vigilant on May 1st as most of the world celebrates the Osama Bin Laden death anniversary? It’s the small percentage that mourns and/or protests his death that gives the rest of the world cause for concern.
