The parents of little Avalanna Routh, who died last week of brain cancer, are very grateful for the kindness bestowed upon them by Justin Bieber. His remembrance of Avalanna during the first concert of his Believe tour meant a lot to the grieving parents.

According to a report from Hollywood Life, the 6-year-old’s dad was very touched by his dedication to Avalanna during his show.

Justin Bieber and Avalanna- Mr. and Mrs. Bieber“We didn’t know he’d be dedicating the song to her. It was completely unrehearsed,” Avalanna’s father, Cameron Routh said during a phone interview. “We were so touched by it. But I wasn’t really surprised, because that’s just the kind of guy he is.”

When Justin sings the song One More Lonely Girl during his concerts, he typically chooses a girl from the audience to come up on stage. For this performance, however, Justin put a bouquet of flowers on an empty chair instead, and while he sang, pictures of him and Avalanna showed on the big screens in the concert venue.

“Avalanna would have loved it,” Cameron Routh says. “She loved parties, loved people and loved adventures. She would have taken the phone from me and told you herself.”

Isn’t it nice to know in this world of self-absorbed people that this young celebrity has a heart of gold, and that he isn’t afraid of sharing that heart even when it means he may experience pain?

And pain is exactly what Justin Bieber experienced when he learned that little Avalanna Routh was gone. In his reaching out to her, however, he set an example for others that hopefully many will strive to attain. His kindnesses not only touched Avalanna–they very clearly touched her parents, too.
