Pedophile’s Guide to Love being sold on Amazon

It is shocking, but there is an electronic book listed on Amazon with the title, “The Pedophile’s Guide To Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover’s Code Of Conduct.” The book, written by Phillip R. Greaves II, is listed for $4.79.

As of this writing, there are 1,172 “reviews” of this book. Almost all the reviews we looked at chastised Amazon and the writer, and called for the book’s removal.

One notable exception is C. Brennan. This person argues that this kind of sensationalism and outrage will only increase the distribution of the book.

C. Brennan says, “…How many copies of this book would have sold, had you not gotten furiously indignant? 100? 200? The author can’t even spell properly. It would have passed beneath the radar, would have never been a moment’s glance of a thing. But now, all you Mothers Against and Fathers Protecting have ENSURED the dissemination of the very thing you most fear.”

Brennan probably has a point, but on the other hand, shouldn’t we get upset that someone went to the trouble to write this book and will be making money from it?

Under the description of the book, the author states, “This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian (sic) rules for these adults to follow. I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter (sic) sentences should they ever be caught.”

That goal alone is enough to give any parent serious pause. It even comes in a Kindle edition.

Even more frightening is under the main photo, there are other photos. One has a caption, “Endorsed by Bishop Eddie Long”. That’s either very scary or slander. According to Wikipedia, “On September 21 and 22, 2010, Maurice Robinson, Anthony Flagg, and Jamal Parris filed separate lawsuits in DeKalb County Superior Court alleging that Long used his pastoral influence to coerce them into a sexual relationship with him.” We suppose that’s where this author is getting his assumption from, but really?

One of the “customer photos” includes a transcript of a chat with an Amazon representative where they stated that they would not be removing the book because it would be censorship. We’ll have to see how that stand pans out for Amazon. Apparently some people are calling for a Christmas boycott.
