Political Scientist Sylvester Stallone Warns About Barack Obama Being A “Manchurian Candidate”

Sylvester Stallone — you know, brother of Frank — has stirred the political pot a bit by tweeting yesterday, “I voted did you? Gotta get the Manchurian Candidate out of the drivers seat before were ALL soaring off a cliff into Oblivion … Be smart.”

Stallone later offered this Twitter pearl to the uninitiated: “The Manchurian Candidate was a movie about fake president who was put there by foreign enemies to destroy America. Scary concept. Rise up!”

Thanks, Sly, even if the film in question is not about a “fake president.” Still, when some followers questioned whether Stallone was really comparing Barack Obama as a brainwashed sap who’s actually acting on behalf of a foreign government, Stallone claimed he was “just mixing it up. Getting the blood going! Makes ya passionate, don’t it. Good! Happy with things? OPINIONS?”

Um, you’re a twerp? Stallone also laid down the law to one vociferous commenter by explaining why he’s so much better qualified to speak (wrongly) about such things, tweeting: “are you smarter than the characters I play? Written any produced screenplays lately?”

Obviously this begs the question as to whether 2008’s Rambo and this year’s The Expendables were, in fact, “written” by anyone more highly evolved than a swamp frog.

Meanwhile, today’s Hollywood Reporter says that Stallone told them that he’s using “Manchurian candidate” to refer as “a reference to all career politicians.” So McCain, the Clintons, the Bushes, Boehner, Pelosi, Palin, and the rest were all “put there by foreign enemies to destroy America.”

Now we know.
