Growing up, the story of Pompeii has always fascinated me. In case you aren’t familiar with it, Pompeii is the city that was destroyed back in 79 A.D. when Mount Vesuvius erupted. The residents of the town had little warning before their city was covered in ash and lava.
Many died, and the city has become a tourist spot in recent years as a city frozen in time. Google Earth has now added a Pompeii street view to its system, which should satisfy curious history buffs like me. See more of Pompeii below in this video.
