Powerball Winners October 15, 2011
Believe it or not, with almost 1,000,000 Powerball players, there were no $1,000,000 winners. How can that be? When the jackpot tops the $100,000,000 mark, there is bound to be one or two $1,000,000 winners that played the PowerPlay option. Although there were plenty of second-tier winners that matched five out of six Powerball winning numbers, sadly, no one that won spent an extra dollar on a PowerPlay ticket. Too bad for them!
There were however, nine (9) Match 5 + 0 winners for $200,000. The winners purchased their tickets in Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Since none of these players bought PowerPlay tickets, they’ll be getting the normal payout of $200,000. You can bet the next Powerball tickets they buy will be PowerPlay tickets!
There were also forty-four (44) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each. Five (5) of those lucky lottery winners did buy PowerPlay tickets, and when multiplied by Saturday night’s PowerPlay number of 4, they’ll be happy to know they’ve increased their winnings to $40,000 instead! An additional 912,639 Powerball winners will soon be cashing in on tickets worth between $3 and $100.
