Snooki, the pregnant Jersey Shore star, is putting her expertise to work. And what is she an expert at, fans ask? Well, she wears a lot of animal prints, and children are fond of animal prints, right? Right! So that gives the reality star what it takes to be a clothing designer. She is involved with a line of slippers for small children.
This spring the soon-to-be-mom will introduce a line of footwear for babies and small children, produced by Happy Feet, reports Eonline. And don’t think she simply inked the contract and slouched off in a pair of fuzzies in a bigger size. No, Snooki is a serious part of the action. “She’s extremely involved in the development,” said a representative for the company. “She’s extremely particular. She didn’t just sign and walk away. She’s involved in every facet, from the website design to the slippers.” Leopard-print and all.
Will Snookieslippers be trending at $15 a pair? Even the “Happy Feet” people seem a bit dubious. “We’re trying to expand our overall retail footing,” says the “Happy Feet” owner Pat Yates, “but her name hasn’t [gained] retail traction yet. [Stores] don’t believe it can appeal to the masses.” Well, that won’t matter much if the slippers are cute and feel good on little feet. Do moms really buy their kids shoes due to celebrity appeal? Snooki is set to find out.
Meanwhile, she will soon have some little toes to keep warm, herself.
