Prince William and Kate Middleton received custom-made cowboy boots for their day in Calgary on Thursday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were spotted in jeans, belts, and cowboy hats for the Calgary Stampede – something that’s near and dear to the locals.
If you’re obsessed with Kate’s fashion like much of the world, you’ll notice that she traded her signature black wedges and her nude pumps for a pair of cowboy boots. However, these weren’t just any old pair of boots – they were custom made by Alberta Boot Company! Both Kate and William had a pair, costing about $1000.00 each. However, the boots were gifted to the royal couple, who wore them with pride.
“The exotic two-toned boots, with shafts made of kangaroo hide and bottoms made of South African ostrich hide, were updated with a modern and personal twist, just for the new [couple],” Hollywood Life reports. It was definitely a change for the Duchess, who is used to wearing heels and dresses. Did you like her casual cowgirl look?
