Princess: A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia by Jean Sasson is about the plight of women, even princesses, in Saudi Arabia. This was written years before 9/11, before so many people in this country started realizing and caring about what was happening to women in the Middle East. I read it in the 90s, so I was already familiar with this subject when everyone here started talking about it. I practically finished this book in a day.
