A dragons’ eyes spoke

of warfare and my demise

His wings cloaked

by a sheep’s disguise

He spewed fireflies

that whispered promises

of an end

to destruction and lies

Not sated by drained veins

Evidence remained;

a bloody stab wound

that never dried
