Scots Guardsman Cameron Reilly has been tossed from his position as a palace guard at the royal wedding after a public Facebook rant over Princess-to-be Kate Middleton. Reilly publicly slammed Middleton, claiming she only offered him a wave as she drove passed him. Unable to contain his rage, Reilly posted a tragically misspelled Facebook update in which he called Prince William’s future wife both a “stuck-up cow” and “posh b*tch.”
Cameron Reilly has previously gone on Facebook tirades against the Jews and Pakistani population saying, Â “a was gonae put a few rifles in ma bergan anaw but then a remembered a couldnt fit any in cause a had 2 many paki’s scalps in it already.”
The behavior of the Scots Guardsman has caused the Palace to act by throwing him out of the Royal Procession of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding on April 29th. The Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying, Â “In view of the nature of the allegation, it would not be appropriate for the individual to be on parade for the royal wedding.”
Although he has been officially removed from the books of the Royal Wedding, he is still holding his position in the British Infantry guarding the castle.
Reilly’s behavior in this high profile incident is a grandiose example of young people posting too much information on Facebook with unfortunate consequences. No matter how Reilly feels toward the future Queen of England, his negative feelings for Kate Middleton should have been kept to himself. Young people with the inclination to overshare on Facebook should take note: your big mouth could cost you not just your job, but your place at a historical event.
