Review: Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

HaloHalo by Alexandra Adornetto

Three angels are sent down to bring good to the world: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. But she is the most human, and when she is romantically drawn to a mortal boy, the angels fear she will not be strong enough to save anyone—especially herself—from the Dark Forces.
Is love a great enough power against evil?

Book Review
This is a wonderful book. It is a true love story through and through. I was expecting more of a fantasy based novel when I saw that it was about three angels here on earth. I wasn’t disappointed in the least bit. The storyline covers how our world looks to the innocent eyes of someone who has never been through life as a teenager. It shows people in their best forms and how good we can ultimately be.

The love story between the angel Bethany and the mortal boy is one that increases gradually, but the love that is felt is pure and unending. The type of love that will move heaven and earth in order to exist. There isn’t a large amount of action in the book, it is very relationship and story based, but it doesn’t feel lacking in any area. The ending is left open and I can’t wait to read the follow up to Halo in order to see what happens next.
