2012 Presidential hopeful Rick Perry stumbles hard at GOP debate last night and it was probably the most epic stumble that America has witnessed since any American presidents have started debating. This is certainly not the first time that Perry has struggled during a debate, but this was the most painful to watch to date.

Here is what happened. “I will tell you, it is three agencies of government when I get there that are gone: Commerce, Education and — what’s the third one there? Let’s see,” said Perry. He stood there dumbfounded and laughing searching his brain for the third one. Ron Paul tried to help him, but Perry was beyond help. John Harwood — a moderator at the debate — pushed Perry to remember the third agency. Perry finally said, “the third one, I can’t. Sorry. Oops.”

Rick Perry stumbles hard at GOP debate last night, but he eventually remembered that he wanted to say the Department of Energy, but it was far too late to redeem himself.

This is certainly not the first time that Rick Perry has made himself look bad. This is the worst so far, however. He looked completely unprepared. Mitt Romney is likely celebrating this epic fail though.

Rick Perry, of course, was asked about it following the debate. He told reporters, “I’m sure glad I had my boots on because I sure stepped in it out there. The bottom line is, I may have forgotten (The Department of) Energy, but I didn’t forget my conservative principles.”

“Stepped in it” is the understatement of the year. It is nice to hear he still has those conservative principles though. At least he remembers something.
