Rick Santorum Really Hates Gays

Rick Santorum spoke at the GOP Convention last night in Tampa. He was the one and only speaker to mention gay marriage. All other Republicans stuck to the themes of women and the economy. Ricky seems to have some real issues with sexuality.

The central theme of the 2012 GOP Convention is “We Built It.” A play on the Obama quote taken completely out of context. In essence, the entire theme of the GOP convention last night was based on a lie because President Obama was not speaking about small businesses when he used the words, he was speaking about roads and bridges. And they all know it, yet they continue to perpetuate the lie.

The organizers of the convention were also clearly begging for the female and minority vote last night. They dredged up a black, female mayor of an unknown Utah town, Saratoga Springs, population 18,299. In fact, the first four speakers in a row were all female. The mayor from Po-dunk Utah…chosen for her race, a congresswoman from Washington, a candidate for Lt. Governor of Delaware and a junior senator from New Hampshire. All the aforementioned women seemed to be trying to imitate Palin. Palin lost the 2008 election. It’s probably not a good idea to attempt to be like a loser.

Several Republican governors spoke about their outstanding records in states like Ohio, Wisconsin and Virginia. All this success achieved under President Obama, by the way.

And the lies! Governor Bob McDonnell stated that unemployment in his state of Virginia is down by 20 percent from 2 years ago. He says it is now at 5.9 percent. It is true that unemployment is now at 5.9 percent in Virginia; however, unemployment peaked at 7.3 percent in January, 2010. That’s less than a full 2 percent! A far cry from 20 percent!

Santorum was the only speaker of the evening to veer off the topic of the economy, “we built it” or saying that government doesn’t create jobs (yet President Mitt Romney will). How exactly is President Romney…who is the top ranking government official…going to create jobs when government cannot?

Santorum said the “assault on marriage and the family” has to stop. So, gay couples wishing to marry are assaulting heterosexual marriage? Assault is a strong word Ricky. In fact, assault is a more accurate way to describe what your church leaders do to young boys.

He continued by saying “all of God’s children, born and unborn” are loved by his party. Just not the gay ones, right?

He actually opened by talking about his immigrant father coming to America with no entitlements except for “freedom.” Freedom should never apply to a female victim of incest or “legitimate” rape or to a homosexual of any gender, right Rick?

The Republican party platforms take away a pregnant rape victim’s right to freedom of choice over her own body. She didn’t have the choice about whether to have sex with her rapists and they want to take away her choice of whether to birth her attacker’s child or not. Well, if her body doesn’t detect rape sperm and just shut down her reproductive organs, that is.

Santorum’s speech was allegedly fact-checked. Yet, he made the claim that President Obama has waived the work requirement for welfare. Politifact called Santorum’s words “a drastic distortion.” That’s putting it mildly. He lied. The Republicans lie, it’s what they do.

Hey, is that the purple teletubby pictured below? Or Rick Santorum?
