Rihanna Takes Bedroom to Red Carpet: Jab at Chris Brown, Karrueche Tran?

Rihanna has been engaged in a veritable technological love triangle via Twitter with ex Chris Brown and his girl of the moment, Karrueche Tran. Although the “We Found Love” singer seemed to recently call it quits to all the tweeting madness (perhaps even drastically changing her hair as a sign she’s moving on!), the TwitPics and the 140 characters or less continue to fly. The latest question now is regarding Ri Ri’s recent appearance in Tokyo for the première of Battleship, where she rocked a rather unusual bedroom-like ensemble. Perhaps there could have been some hidden meaning to that unusual sartorial statement?!

Karrueche Tran may have just uploaded a sexy photo of herself on her bed, no doubt for the benefit of Chris Brown while throwing another punch Rihanna’s way. But Ri Ri somewhat one-upped that effort, bringing her bedroom to the red carpet and the paparazzi. At the première on Tuesday, she donned a slinky, pajama-like affair by Emilio Pucci.

While skimpy, seductive attire is nothing new for Rihanna (after all, she’s bared her assets on more than a few occasions), this pair of PJs actually did not channel Agent Provocateur; no racy, boudoir ensembles here. The singer showed hardly any skin with the silky and relaxed, long-sleeve set that shone with a metallic blue and gold print, which happened to play off her new jet-black, half-shaved locks fabulously.

File:Rihanna V Festival 2011 cropped.jpgLeave it to Ri Ri to throw her fans and fashion followers, not to mention Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran, an ultimate curveball by not flaunting what’s she’s got this time. That may have been the point; though, there’s sort of an underlying irony in this all-covered-up, bedroom-inspired exit.

She also hid her curves from the public eye at a press conference on Monday, with a black embellished turtleneck, leather glovers, and harem pants by Givenchy, as Us Weekly reports. Maybe she really is taking a jab at Brown and Tran and sending a new message that classy, rather than raunchy, wins the race (or Twitter war) in the end—and that she’s not interested in playing any more. That said, it seems it will only be a matter of time before this fashion and beauty chameleon will, ahem, shed some layers and literally reveal more.
