Rihanna set off on a big promotional tour with about 250 fans and journalists to help promote her latest album, Unapologetic. She may need to do some apologizing pretty quick like before she completely spoils the album launch. While some may call those 250 people lucky to get to be included on the creative promotional stunt, the people aboard the 777 are not feeling real lucky right now. In fact, they are down right peeved.
Apparently, RiRi is much too busy to actually interact with her fellow passengers. The discord is obvious in the tweets and blogs that have come out since the big takeoff on Wednesday. One person complained, “Long waits on tarmac and in buses, no sleep, and no sightings of her royal highness since our initial ascent into the skies has the denizens of the Rihanna plane feeling restless.”
According to Maud Deitch of MTV, the exhaustion is catching up with her fellow journalists and it is evident in the reviews. She describes one incident where everybody was forced to wait on board the plane while RiRi went out shopping for lingerie. You can only imagine how frustrating that must be added with the fact there has been absolutely little to no interaction between the singer and the press.
Who created this very expensive tour? It is sounding more and more like a complete waste of money and time. Couldn’t they have thought of a better way to drum up press?
